T. Romana College came into existence in the year 1992 as a private institution, later in the year 2003 the college got the status of Grants-in-aid College. The college is offering education in the faculty of arts with affiliation from Mizoram University. Initially, it was affiliated to North Eastern Hill University and after the establishment of Mizoram University, the college came under its jurisdiction in the year 2001.

As mentioned earlier, T. Romana College is offering both honors and general degree in the arts faculty and the list of subjects covered under this faculty is given below:

The college is also permitted to offer career-oriented course by the University Grants Commission and so the college is offering certificate course in computer application and mobile phone repairing as career-oriented courses. In addition, the college is acting as a study centre of Indira Gandhi Open University under convergence scheme and through this some of the courses like bachelor’s degree in human rights and social work are offered by the college.

Admission Criteria:

For getting admission to the honors degree course, except English, candidates must have secured not less than 45% of mark in the appropriate subjects in which they are seeking admission and 45% as aggregate of all subjects. As far as honors course in English is concerned, candidates must have secured 50% of marks in English.

Fee payable at the time of admission:

Candidates, who are provisionally selected for admission to the college, will have to pay a fee of Rs.2125, which includes tuition fee, registration fee, enrolment fee, library fee, game fee, class examination fee, maintenance charge, identity card fee, magazine fee, students’ union fee, etc…
