Difference between B.Sc Home Science and B.A Home Science
Home science is not only limited to science but it can also be said as the art form which includes the concepts, knowledge and theories from the various fields like arts, science and humanities. This field is generally meant for the girls but nowadays the male students who are interested in this are also taking up this as a professional course. B.Sc Home science and B.A Home science are the bachelor’s degree that deals in the same field. But they differ in many aspects.
B.Sc Home Science
B.Sc in Home science is an undergraduate degree awarded by many universities in India. This is a professional course of three year duration. The course covers the various fields of science like nutrition, health and growth measurements. It also involves various scientific problems that deal in the surroundings and in the environment. A number of specializations are there in B.Sc Home science from which a student can choose their area of interest. Some of the specializations are nutrition, clothing, family relations, home management, child development, etc. To pursue this bachelor’s degree, one must have passed the 10+2 examinations from a reputed institution. Most of the universities will admit only the students who have pursued the science as major at 12th level.
B.A Home Science
B.A Home Science is an undergraduate degree of three year duration that is offered by various universities in India. The course can be said as the art form that involves managing various resources efficiently. It also involves the science of developing one’s home life, family life and intellectual thinking ability. B.A in this particular branch of study includes the study of several disciplines like economics, rural development, sociology and family relationships, etc. To pursue this course one should complete 12th or equivalent in any stream from reputed institutions. Various higher study options in this field are offered by the universities. A wide range of career opportunities are available for these graduates in industries such as Apparel Merchandising, cafeterias, welfare organizations, etc.

- B.Sc. Home Science can be pursued by those candidates who have completed 12th or equivalent in science subjects whereas B.A in Home Science can be pursued by the candidates who have completed 12th or equivalent in any stream.
- B.Sc. Home science is the study of various scientific problems related to development of surrounding and environment. B.A Home science can be said as the study of management of resources efficiently.
Even though both the courses cover the same field their course nature differs in some aspects.
