How to fill NID NEED Application Forms
The National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED) is considered to be one amongst the most well known entrance examination for graduate level courses in design. This exam is very important for aspirants who wish to pursue a career in design. The admittance into the National Institute of Design in addition to other institutions is done on the basis of the marks secured by the students in the National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED). How to Get the Admission Forms
The admission form for this exam can be got from the national Institute of Design. This form has to be filled in clearly and completely before it is sent to the NID. The form will be accessible from the mid of October every year. The price of the form is Rs.1500/- for the general candidates and Rs.750/- for SC/ST/OBC students.
To get the form by post, A DD of the required amount ought to be sent in the name of the National Institute of Design together with a requisition letter. The DD must be payable at Ahmedabad. Forms can also be taken from the official website of the NID. Selected branches of the SBI also make the forms available for students to buy. An additional 30 Rupees must be given with the original amount as bank charges. One thing to remember is that forms will be available at concessional rates only from the NID, Ahmedabad.
Instructions to be followed for filling in form
Given below are some rules to be followed by applicants when they fill the admission form:
- Fill the form in your own script. Write it legibly
- Fill the form in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Use only black or blue ball point pens.
- Fill the boxes by leaving a blank space between words.
The form must be filled in neatly. No types of typos must appear ion the form. Also, students must ensure that the form does not have any damage. Relevant papers must be sent along with the form and the DD. in case any of these rules and not abided by the applicants, their application will be discarded and their candidature shall be rejected.
Exemptions to be taken care while filling in form
A few exceptions are there in this exam which the students need to be completely aware of. They encompass:
- The admission form must be affixed with the following papers.
- Hall ticket of the exam with attested photographs.
- Certified copies of the student’s educational qualifications.
- Certified copy of the students date of birth
- Certificates proving the caste of the students.

Last date for receipt of applications
The final date for the submission of the NID NEED exam application is the last week of October.
- Exam date: January mid week
- Issue of forms: October second week.
- Last date for form submission: last week of October.
- Date of PI and Studio tests: Mid of April.
Acknowledgement of exam application form
A call letter announcing the acceptance of the applicant shall be forwarded to them prior to the start of the exam. An email will also be sent to students intimating the other details regarding the National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED).

Sir,how could I know whether my form was accepted or rejected? Is there a way through which I could take the exam even after late submission of NID forms? If the form is rejected due to late submission then will the DD money be refunded?
