The Birla institute of Technology and Science, BITS Pilani is an all India level institute for higher education. The main aim of the institute is to provide advance knowledge to students and to educate them in science, technology and other areas of scholarship. The institute was established in 1964. The institute offers higher education in almost all fields ranging from humanities to engineering. The institute provides top quality technical education for students from all parts of India. Admissions to various courses are made on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the institute, Birla Institute of Technology and Science admission test (BITSAT). BITSAT is a computer based online test. M.Sc. (Hons.)

M.Sc. (Hons.) is an integrated degree program which can be done without doing B.Sc course.  The program ensures the candidates with relevant science component like any of the similar master’s science degrees of other universities. Eligibility Criteria

For the admission for M.Sc. (hons) from BITS Pilani candidates should have completed their higher secondary level of education in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate of 75% in each subject. Candidates who are appearing for the final exam can also apply. Candidates who have completed their higher secondary level of education in the year 2011 or those who are appearing for the final year exam in the year 2012 are only eligible for the exam. Admissions are purely made on merit basis. Merit is based on the score obtained by the candidate in the Birla Institute of Technology and Science admission test (BITSAT)

Admission Procedure

The candidate should apply online for the test. The forms will be available by the mid week of May in the official website of the institute.

Fee Structure

The fees amount for one semester is about Rs. 65, 000/-. Candidates who belong to the backward communities will be given a relaxation in the fee amount.
