Details of LL.B Admission in Punjab University 2013
Graduation in any subject with at least 45% marks is the minimum qualification required to join LL.B course in Punjab University. Apart from this, Post graduates in any subject also become eligible to apply. The admission process for this course consists of an entrance examination. The entrance examination comprise of a total of 75 questions (Both objective and subjective model) to be completed within 90 minutes. Questions from subject areas like GK, Legal Aptitude and General English is asked for the test. On qualifying the entrance exam with a good score, candidates will be given admission for this course.
Eligibility Criteria for LLB course in Punjab University
To apply for LLB course, it is essential for candidates to complete a graduate course in any subject discipline from any of the reputed institutes recognized by Punjab University. A minimum of 45% marks need to be attained in this level to apply for the same. Final year graduates are also eligible to apply for LLB course in this university, provided they are able to complete the course within the specified date of admission by scoring the specific percentage of marks.
Apart from this, Post Graduates in any subject are also considered for this course. Those candidates, who are completed 12th class, graduate or post graduate studies through open universities are not eligible to apply for LLB course in this university.
Admission Procedure for LLB course in Punjab University
The admission procedure for LLB course will be based on an entrance examination. It is compulsory for candidates to clear the entrance exam with the specified cut off score to get admission for this course.
The format of the entrance exam consists of both objective and subjective type questions. The total time duration allowed to complete this entrance examination is 1 hour 30 minutes. Following is the pattern for division of marks and questions in each section –
Section 1 – Objective Model questions
- Total number of questions -50 questions
- Marks in Total -50 marks
The questions in this section will be from the following subject areas -
- Legal Aptitude
- General Knowledge
- English Knowledge
Section 2 – Subjective Model questions
- Total number of questions -25 questions
- Marks in Total – 25 marks
The questions in this section will be from the following subject areas -
- Writing and Communication Skill with legal Aptitude
- Reading and Comprehension
The admission for LLB course will be based on merit involving an equal weight age of 50% given for both the entrance exam score and qualifying exam score. Based on that, a final merit list will be prepared and published in the Punjab University official website. Candidates need to follow an online application procedure for applying for LLB course in Punjab University.
