So, we can understand the importance of agriculture and its impact on India. B.Sc in agriculture is the acronym of Bachelor of Science in agriculture. The most vital issue of concern that has been facing Indian farmers is the lack of specialized methods and techniques. This was the main reason for the introduction of B.Sc agriculture course in India.

This course was promoted so as to bring about more awareness in the use of upgraded techniques and better infrastructure, which will boost agricultural profession in India. The Course contents consist of various viewpoints that will further add to the understanding of the field of agriculture.  It will enable students to understand environment and all aspects of agriculture. This course is offered by almost all central and state universities in India to promote interest of youth in agriculture field.

Eligibility requirements for doing B.Sc in agriculture

The minimum requirement is a 10+2 in science stream, from a recognized school or board of India. The minimum marks required are 50% in 10+2, but this criterion varies from one university to another. The course duration is of 3 years.

Scope of B.Sc Agriculture on the farming sector of India

There is scope both in government sector as well as in private sector. The students can also take up higher studies like M.Sc in agriculture. This will enhance their knowledge base and help them in getting more specialized knowledge about agriculture. MBA in agriculture is one more option which can be taken by interested candidates. A lot of governmental agencies are there, who seek for skilled and knowledgeable professionals. Apart from this, organizations like food chains, dairy consultancies and animal industries all employ such professionals.

These professional bring with them, new techniques and new knowledge to the farming sector. Government has initiated a lot of research in the agricultural field. B.Sc agriculture professionals can find employment in various agricultural research institutes of India. Also, they can become agricultural scientists.

They can easily get employed in any government colleges at primary level of research. So, here we can see that Indian farmers and farming can benefit a lot from these professionals. These graduates can tell farmers about new ways of farming and bring out the next wave of green revolution. A new green revolution is the need of the hour in Indian farming and agricultural industry. For the interaction of farmers and agricultural scientists, government has created many new institutes and research centers.
