SDM Institute for Management Development offers a post graduate diploma in management. It is a full time course of duration two years. The Institute requires the applicants to sit for the Common Admission Test conducted by the IIMs. SDM Institute for Management Development considers this test for the screening purpose. The candidates are required to apply for the institute also.

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in any stream. Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. The final selection to the institute is based on the combined performance of the candidate CAT, his or her previous academic performance and the performance in the interview. Work experience also matters a lot. Those with the relevant work experience are given priority in admission process, but all the other things are also not neglected. The score in CAT is considered to have the most weight in the selection process. After this the performance in interview comes.

Candidates should have at least 50% marks in total or equivalent GPA. The degree should be in any discipline recognized by AICTE.

Though the Institute uses CAT as the screening test IIMs have no role in the selection process of the Institute.
