The Institute was established with a major motive to impart quality Under Graduate based courses In Engineering in the state of Manipur. This Institute of Technology was established in the year 2007. The Institute was established under the National Institute Act, 2007 that was passed on the same year. The College has established its own breed of importance within the North-Eastern part of India. The candidates that are interested in undertaking admission to this institute have to appear for a national based Entrance Exam namely AIEEE or All India Engineering Entrance Examination.
