LPU-NEAT 2011 B.Tech(Hons)
Lovely Professional University (LPU) offers an entrance exam that is known as NEAT or National Engineering Aptitude Test. The examination is conducted for undertaking admission in the B.Tech programs in Honors section. Lovely Professional University is amongst the largest Universities in India in terms of the large campus its houses. The University was established in the recent years by he giant Lovely Group. The university soon since its establishment has been awarded to be termed as an autonomous Institute by the UGC or University Grants Commission. The University has 24, 000 students in an incredibly giant space of 600 acres. The University offers a large number of professional based courses at all level, whether it is the Under Graduate type or the Post Graduate type is fields that include Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Law, Architecture Education, etc.
LPU provides undergraduate engineering programmes in two modes: Regular and Honors’. For admission to B.Tech (Honors) Programmes candidates have to appear in NEAT which is conducted by LPU. All Honours Programmes of LPU are offered through Lovely Honors’ School of Technology. Candidates can also opt to do Integrated B.Tech(Hons)+MBA or Integrated B.Tech(Hons)+M.Tech in 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry/ Biology/Computer Science/ Bio- Tech. For B.Tech(Hons)- Biotech candidates should have passed with Physics, Chemistry and either Maths/Biology. Also the candidates should have got atleast 50% aggregate marks in their 12th exams. Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply.
How to Apply:
Candidates can apply online for NEAT through the website www.lpu.in. Candidates can also download the application form through the same website. Those applying can pay for the examination fee through credit/debit card/online bank transfer. Candidates who download the application form can submit the completed the completed application form along with examination fees in cash/demand draft/pay order directly at the university or send it by post.
Pattern of NEAT:
NEAT is an online entrance examination conducted over a period of 8 days and 2 sessions in a day. The test is of 3 hours duration consisting of multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude. Medical students applying for B.Tech(Biotech) will have questions from PCB and General Aptitude. There will be no negative marking.

Dates of NEAT: May 1st-2nd week, 2011
Availability of Application Forms: February 1st week, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: March 2nd week, 2011
