The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology located at Kanpur has been approved as one of the premier institutions for agricultural education and research in India. The formation of the university dates back to 1893 when a small school was started to offer training to revenue officers. Later this school grew as a Government Agricultural college in the year 1906 and as Uttar Pradesh Institute of Agricultural Sciences in the year 1969 and finally as a University with its present name in the year 1975. The university has attained its present status through step-by-step development and the university is offering education through three of its faculties namely faculty of agricultural engineering & technology, faculty of agriculture and faculty of home science. The jurisdiction of this university is spread over 28 districts at about six divisions in the state of UP. In addition to offering quality education, the university also finds suitable employment opportunities for its Alumni through its placement cell in such a way that the ability and skills of the students are utilized for the development of the nation. For this purpose, the university is arranging campus interviews and the alumni are placed in different top-rated organization in the state. An agricultural information cell is also functioning under the university and this cell is providing different facilities like LAN connectivity to the heads of the departments and the constituent colleges and for effective usage of these facilities, the university has provided training to the staff.
