Forensic Science deals with the study of analyzing the mode of a crime by the application of a wide range of sciences. Forensic study involves checking Fingerprints, Serology and DNA. It also involves detailed study about narcoanalysis, detecting cyber crimes, etc.
There are various graduate and postgraduate forensic programmes offered by different colleges in India and abroad. Those who have done graduation in Science disciplines, Dental or Pharmacy with not less than 50% marks can apply for the PG diploma courses. Also, candidates who have secured a BA or B.Sc. degree can apply for M.Sc in Forensic Science course. Candidates are required to have a PG with 60% in applying for the research programmes. The candidates need to appear for an entrance test (PGCET) in order to get admission for the masters’ course in Forensic Science.

Forensic Scientists can hunt for vacancies in law enforcing agency, police force, etc. They are given the designation of crime scene examiner, crime laboratory analyst, and forensic engineer.
