Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture was established in the year 2003-04 by the Shivaji Education Society, which is one of the most popular education society in the state of Maharashtra. The college is offering horticulture education under the control of Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University located at Akola.

Course Curriculum:

Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture is offering Bachelor of Science in Horticulture course under Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University and the course is divided into eight semesters extending to a period of four years.

Intake Capacity & Eligibility for Admission:

For the horticulture course offered by the college, it is allowed to admit 40 students per year. For getting into the course, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination from the state board of Maharashtra or any other equivalent examination with English, biology, chemistry and physics.

Infrastructural Facilities:

Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture includes infrastructural facilities with respect to playgrounds, well-equipped labs, spacious buildings, fruits & crops museums and experimental fields as prescribed by the government of Maharashtra for starting a college of horticulture. The college is offering other facilities like hostel accommodation and students’ counseling cell, etc…

College Library:

The library of Shri Shivaji College of Horticulture is provided with all facilities required for the proper functioning of a college library. Some of the special features of the library are that the library is located in a calm atmosphere and it includes a well-equipped reading hall with a capacity of accommodating 200 people at a time. It is stocked with enough collection of books, magazines and journals suitable not only for UG students, but also for PG and for research students as well. It has a collection of more than 20,000 books, of which 19000 books are related to agricultural field, 700 are related to horticulture and 500 are related to the field of biotechnology.
