Application Form for India Forestry Exam
The Union Public Service Commission carries out an Entrance Exam for the recruitment of candidates into the Indian Forest Service. It is an exam held annually.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who seek to write the IFS exam are required to be graduates with Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany or Mathematics. Students who have learned Zoology, Geology, Physics, Statistics or Chemistry can apply too. Those who have finished their graduation with Engineering, Forestry or Agriculture are also suitable to apply. The candidates are supposed to be physically fit as per the physical standards mentioned in the information brochure.
Application Procedure
Candidates can apply for the IFS exam by two methods. They are:
Online method
The application could be downloaded from the authorized website of the UPSC . The filled up form is then to be mailed to the office of the UPSC along with a DD of Rs. 20. All the necessary documents are required to be sent along with the form.
Offline method
It is possible for the candidates to procure the application alongside an Information Brochure from the chosen Head Post Offices or Post Offices across the country. The price of the form is Rs. 20/-. The candidates are required to mail the application to the Secretary, UPSC, New Delhi. The form should be mailed by either speed or registered post only.
How to fill the application form?
Some things to be kept in mind by the candidates:
- The students are required to fix postage of Rs 6 on the Cards of Acknowledgement. This is to be sent to the UPSC along with the application.
- Prior to filling the form, the students must carefully decide the optional subject as well as the centre for the exam.
- The students are supposed to read the brochure fully before filling the form.
- The students are required to fill the form in English only.
- The students ought to make use of black or blue pens when they fill the form.
- A current photograph of the students should be fixed to the space provided.
- The students have to provide their signature at the given space.

i want to get a job in indian embessy.i am 12th pass.i got 60% in 12th.which type of jobs available for me n what is the crateria of filling a form pls suggest me.thak u.
Sir,
I have completed my 12th in 2006 having Biology, Physics, Chemistry and also completed graduation in Bioinformatics, but continuing my post graduate degree in Bioinformatics.
We study plant biology,plant and animal physiology,proteiomics,genomics, etc.which include Biology,physics,chemistry,So are we eligible for applying IFS exams.
Because i am intrested in Forestry services.
please suggest me regarding this.
