The undergraduate programme in Life Sciences is a three year intensive course dealing with the scientific study of different life forms. This course is offered by many colleges and universities in the country. Students are exposed to rare species of plant and animal life in this course.

Eligibility Criteria

The admission to this course is largely merit based. The student should have completed 10 + 2 exam with a good score. Moreover, the performance on the entrance test is also taken into account.  Some colleges also offer a career in molecular biology, biotechnology etc. in addition to a undergraduate programme in Life Science.

Course Outlook

The course is a three year, six semester intensive programme. The student is asked to submit an assignment at the end of each term. There is written and project work involved in each semester. There are a few core subjects in each semester and some elective courses as well. The lectures are held by experienced and senior professionals in the field. There are visiting faculties for some subjects as well.

Job Prospects

The graduate of this course has ample opportunities in the field of research. Most of the students are known to pursue a Maters’ degree from abroad as well.  Some universities and colleges also have an exchange programme wherein the student is allowed to go to an affiliated university abroad for a semester or two.
