The General Economics Paper of the Indian Economic Service Exam is divided into two parts. The paper I is related to the general aspects of the economy of the country. Are There Any Divisions In The Paper?

Yes, the question paper follows a modular division format covering all the important parts of the course. The question paper is divided into three sections as Section A, Section B and Section C.

How Are The Questions Distributed In All The Sections?

There are total 13 questions in this paper. The Section A of the question paper contains only one question which is further divided into seven questions. The questions in this section are short answer type with a word limitation of 50 words. Out of the 7 questions only 5 are required to be answered. Section B of the paper contains 9 questions of which only 7 are required to be answered correctly. There is a word limit of 150 words for this section. Section C of this paper is having only three questions and there is a word limit of 500 words for this section.

The total time allowed for the General Economics Paper- 1 is of three hours. The total marks that can be secured in this paper is 200.
