Border Security Force (BSF) was established in the year 1965. The primary role of BSF is to provide security to the border of India and to related matters.

The BSF involves in promoting a sense of security among the people living in the border areas, in preventing Trans-border crimes, unauthorized entry into or exit from the territory of India, and in preventing smuggling and any other illegal activity during peace time. BSF also involves in war time security roles.

Job Profile:

Border Security Force (BSF) invites application from eligible male Indian citizens for the posts of Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Civil) and Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Electrical).

No. of posts: Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Civil) – 18; Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Electrical) - 13.

Pay Scale – Rs. 9300 - 34800 + Grade pay of Rs. 4200

Eligibility:

Age criteria – The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years (Relaxable as per rules).

Educational qualification and post qualification experience – The candidates must have done at least 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering from any recognized Institute. They must have specific physical standards as given in the BSF’s website link http://www.bsf.nic.in/recruitment/r304.pdf.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of written test, documentation check, physical measurement test, physical efficiency test, interview and medical fitness test.
