How to Prepare for Joint Management Entrance Test?
The Joint Management Entrance test is conducted every year to get admission in Post graduate programs in Management. This is a full time degree program. It is offered by IIS and IIT. Currently Bangalore, Delhi, Kharagpur, Bombay, Roorkee, Kanpur and Madras are offering this full time management degree program.
Structure of the JMET
Based on the marks obtained in the JMET Exam, the candidates are called for group discussion and personal interview. There will be a total of 120 multiple choice questions. The duration of this exam is 3 hours. The questions are divided into four sections and the sections are
- Mathematics
- Logical Reasoning
- Data interpretation
- English
Each section carries maximum of 30 marks. 1/4 negative mark will be given to each wrong answer. The candidates are asked to attend the known questions because if they answer wrongly they will loose marks. This will lead candidate to score low marks in the entrance exam. The candidate can apply for this exam through online.
Syllabus of the JMET
The verbal section checks the candidate’s ability in English language. They can study vocabularies from English news papers and websites. There are many websites available in online which have mock tests for English. The candidate can study vocabulary from MAT books. The logical reasoning section carries questions related to analytical reasoning, argument etc. Quantitative ability section checks the candidate basic understanding of mathematics. This covers HCF and LCM, percentage, operations, fraction, roots, number, Geometry etc. Data interpretation section covers pie charts, histograms, diagrams and tables etc. The candidate should make valid interpretation from the given data set.

Study Plan for JMET
The candidate should allot separate time for each section and start preparing. The candidates need not to worry about the exam. After their preparation, they can go through the previous year question papers and JMET sample papers. Moreover, they can practice many mock tests and it will improve their knowledge and speed.
