Adikavi Nannaya University came into existence in the year 2006 on the month of March 2006 through the Andhra Pradesh Government Act. The university is offering education through its different schools of education like school of life & health sciences, school of human development & behavioral sciences, school of mathematics & information sciences, school of earth & atmospheric sciences, school of cultural studies & communication and school of chemical sciences.

Different departments are also functioning under the university like Department of Computer Sciences, department of chemistry, department of English, department of goeinformatics & atmospheric science, department of management studies, department of mathematics, department of social work and department of zoology. Adikavi Nannaya University is offering education under PG degree and PG diploma levels through these departments functioning under its jurisdiction. Adikavi Nannaya University is following a system of evaluation, which is based on Continuous Internal Assessment of the candidates and Semester End Examination both these methods are shortly called as CIA and SEE respectively. As far as theory papers in different courses offered by the university are concerned, the university assesses the performance of the students on the basis of 20:80 ratio, which indicates that 20 percentage through CIA method and 80% through SEE method. CIA includes seminars, presentations, assignments and mid-semester examinations, while SEE indicated main examination conducted at the end of the semester.

In addition to offering quality education in the aforesaid courses, Adikavi Nannaya University also arranges for placement opportunities to its students through its placement cell, which is functioning effectively.
