Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University was established with the objective of development of the traditional language Sanskrit in India. This university is located in the city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh and it came into existence in the year 2008 on the 15th of August and the university formally began its functions from the 17th of August 2008.

Duties:

The Government of Madhya Pradesh entrusted the Maharshi Panani University with the following duties:

• To propagate, protect and preserve the divine language of Sanskrit and its literature

• To work for the development of ancient sciences like alchemy, mathematics, geometry, astronomy, ayurveda, vastu, architecture, sculpture, etc…

• To widen the horizon of learning in the world and to pave the way for finding answers to some of the perplexing questions facing the society

Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University is offering education through astrology, scripture, science & Sanskrit Literature and Sanskrit departments. The list of courses offered by the Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University is given below:

The Acharya course enables the students to become teachers in the language of Sanskrit and all these four courses are offered under both semester pattern and annual examination pattern. The university is planning to introduce more and more courses in the field of Sanskrit in such a way that the development of the holy language of India is ensured.

The university is receiving funds from the Sanskrit Development Scheme of the Union Government of Madhya Pradesh, which is encouraging the development of the holy language. Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University is acting as both affiliating and as teaching university and nearly 15 colleges offering education in the field of Sanskrit located in different districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh are affiliated to this university. Thus, the development of the holy language of Sanskrit can be ensured with the development of this university, which is taking every step to develop the holy language.
