Guru Nanak Dev University was set up at Amritsar in the year 1969. This is a residential as well as affiliating university. The University aims in imparting education and promoting research in the fields of science, humanities, arts, management, information technology, industrial technology, environment, planning & architecture, and applied nature & technology. The University also aims in promoting Punjabi language.

The University works hard in spreading education among educationally backward classes and communities. The University directs and monitors the academic programmes of over 100 colleges situated in five districts, namely, Amritsar, Nawanshehar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Gurdaspur. Pay Scale – For J.R.F the salary is Rs. 12000 per month for candidates who have passed NET, and for Project Fellows the salary is Rs. 8000 per month. The salary for candidates without NET qualification is based on the Guru Nanak Dev University rules.

Eligibility:

Age Criteria – As per UGC rules.
