Kerala University Common Admission Test (CAT) Eligibility Criteria
The Kerala University carries out the Common Admission Test (CAT) for the admission of candidates into the MBA Tourism and MBA into the credit as well as semester system. Students who pass this exam will be given admission into the prestigious Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK), located at the Palayam campus in addition to its other extension centers.
Basic Eligibility for Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)
The basic qualification needed by one to apply for the Kerala University (KU) CAT exam is a Bachelors degree in any discipline. The certification must be from any Indian University that has recognition from the University of Kerala. The students must have studies in 10+2+3 pattern. Students must have secured more than 50 percent marks in Part III marks B. Sc (Agriculture), B. Sc, BA and B.Com. Students of SC/ST categories shall be given relaxation according to the policies and conditions of the University.
Qualifying Examinations for the Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)
Students who have a graduate degree can apply for the KU CAT exam. Those students who are waiting for their results or are in their final semester are also suitable to apply for the Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT).
Age Qualification for Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)
Age limit is not there for students who wish to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT exam).
Who can apply for Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)?
Aspirants who are applying for this test should be permanent citizens of India. They must also fulfill all other qualifying criteria as mentioned in the prospectus. Those who fulfill all the conditions can submit an application for the Common Admission Exam (CAT)
Reservation of seats in Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)
The reservation for students is as follows:
- SC candidates - 15%
- ST candidates - 5%
- OBC candidates - 20% (Muslim – 7%, OBC Christian – 1%, Ezhava – 8%, LC/SIUC-1% and OBC Hindu – 3%)
Admission Process for the Kerala University Common Admission Test (KUCAT)
The price of the application is Rs. 500/-. It can be got from the university office or by post. It can also be taken from the internet. Aspirants are needed to appear for the admission test that is set by the university. Those students who have participated for the written exam must also appear for the group discussion as well as the interview. The rank list for admittance to the MBA course will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained by the students in the admission test. The counseling for the course will be carried out soon after the interview/GD.
