Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology came into existence in the year 1999 on the 1st of November and the university holds the pride of being the second agricultural university of the state of Rajasthan. This university was formed by the bifurcation of the Rajasthan Agricultural University.

The main purpose behind the bifurcation of the Rajasthan Agricultural University is due to the wide range of physiographic variation in the state inclusive of soil parameters, climate, cropping pattern, crops, etc… In addition, it was felt that it is highly difficult to carry out the mandate offered to the Rajasthan Agricultural University by the Government of Rajasthan through a single university and this is also one of the reasons for formation of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology is offering education in different faculties of education like agriculture, dairy & food technology, engineering, fisheries, home science, horticulture & forestry and veterinary and animal science and the list of courses offered through these faculties is given below:
