Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited was set up in the year 1985 with the name of UP Alparthak Evam Laghu Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. The company was established under the Government of India. The name of the company was later changed to UP Laghu Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. The name of the company was then once again changed in the year 1996 and the company got its present name i.e. UP Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. One of the main objective of the company is to carry out investigation and also to prepare various schemes related to establishment of generating stations and sub stations.

Rs. 400 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by the interested candidates (only General and OBC categories candidates). Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 200 for applying for any of the above specified positions. The application fee is required to be sent in the form of a demand draft only which should be drawn in favour of UJVN Limited payable at Dehradun.
