Company profile: It was established in the year 1993 as an autonomous body. It works in the field of earth sciences. It also undertakes the activities of ocean engineering and ocean research. It objectives are to develop and promote technology for the utilization of ocean resources and to provide quality services and solutions in the field of ocean technology.

Job profile: The role of the scientists will be to support the projects they work upon. They will be in areas viz. designing, R&D, selection of materials, testing under water, electronic design of components etc.

Eligibility: Only Indian nationals can apply.
The age requirements are as follows – Project Scientist V – 35-55 years
Project Scientist IV – 35-55 years
Project Scientist III – 30-50 years
Project Scientist II – 27-40 years
Project Scientist I – below 35 years
The age is relaxable for reserved categories.

Educational qualification: The minimum qualifications required for Project Scientist in grade I is 1st class BE or B.Tech and preference will be given to ME/M.Tech/MCA/PhD.
For grade II scientists minimum 4 years experience with BE/B.Tech and 2 years with ME/M.Tech is required.
For grade III minimum 8 years experience with BE/B.Tech, 6 years with ME/M.Tech is required and 4 years with PhD is required.
For grade IV minimum 12 years experience with BE/B.Tech, 10 years with ME/M.Tech is required and 8 years with PhD is required.
For grade V minimum 17 years experience with BE/B.Tech, 15 years with ME/M.Tech is required and 13 years with PhD is required.

No. of posts: There are 43 posts for grade I, 12 for grade II, 7 for grade III, 1 for grade IV and 2 for grade V. There are 65 posts in total which are divided amongst various categories and disciplines.

Pay scale: The pay scale for grade V scientists is Rs73200-83300; grade IV - Rs72900 – 83000, grade III - Rs39400 – 44500, grade II - Rs38000 – 42800 and grade I - Rs36200 – 40800.

Selection procedure: The candidates will be short listed on the basis of their qualification and the short listed candidates will be called for an interview.
