Physics is that branch of science that deals with the understanding the nature and the various universal laws that govern the various phenomenon. Physics forms the basis of all the branches of Engineering whether it is Electrical or Mechanical or Civil. We have seen some dramatic changes with the advancement of Nuclear Physics which has transformed our society completely.

Physics in Higher Secondary

The higher secondary students are given the basic knowledge of almost all the branches of Physics such as Thermodynamics, Mechanics, Hydrostatics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Physics, Nuclear Physics, Optics and such others. With the basic knowledge of all these topics, the students can sit for engineering entrance exam or can opt for higher studies in Physics. In higher secondary students are given practical examples so that they can grasp the various concepts which are further cleared when they study physics in their higher studies.

The various topics which are covered by Physics-I are Properties of Matter, Heat and Sound.

Paper Pattern of Maharashtra Board HS Physics-I Papers

The Physics-I paper carries a total of 40 marks. These 40 marks are divided in to 5 questions. The first question has eight multiple choice questions with 4 alternatives and students have to write the correct answer. Each question carries 1 mark. Question 2 has one numerical and some other questions. Question 5 has 3 numerical questions of 4 marks each and students have to answer any 2 questions from that.
