The placement process of Crompton Greaves which is an Indian MNC is considered to be a tough one and is a three round process with a test, group discussion and an interview. The process is made heavy so as to select the best candidates out of a large crew.

Crompton Placement Test

The first level of the placement process is a test. The test is comprised of two sections- the aptitude section and the technical section. There are a total of 50 questions out of which 20 questions are from aptitude type and 30 from technical type. The time limit is 60 minutes which is equally divided between the two sections. The aptitude section contains questions from critical reasoning, general reasoning and general aptitude. The technical sections contain questions related to the subject.

The next level of the placement process for those who have successfully come out of the first level is a group discussion. This is done to select the most talented out of the selected candidates from the test. This will be an interactive section. A topic will be issued and the candidate has to talk about the topic. This section is carried out to check one’s communication skill, ability to work in a group etc

Once a candidate comes out successful in both the levels, the next level is a face to face personal interview. The candidates have to face a lot of questions from the interviewer. There will be questions to check one’s personality, communication skill and also one’s ability to handle situations and one’s quick response.

The preparation for the test has to be started well in advance. The candidates have to practice similar questions with proper time management. One can refer books of S.Chand and R.S.Agarwal which will cover almost all topics. One can get sample question papers from the site and be clear about the type of questions asked in general.

This will be the toughest level for most of the candidates as they have to be open in front of a crowd. One can overcome this by creating an interactive section with their friends and there by be comfortable to face a crowd.
