UP Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University (DUVASU) and Cattle Research Institute was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was established as the first veterinary college in Asia. The institute was initially named as U. P. College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. The college was made a constituent college of C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in the year 1975. Later on, the university was renamed to the U. P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya. The main campus of the university is spreaded in an area of 782 acres.
