Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences came into existence in the year 1968 and right from its inception, the institute has been playing a crucial role as an institution par excellence in offering technical training in the field of aviation. The college has earned permanent approval from the state government for offering different technical courses and in recognition of the proven capabilities of the institution, it has been awarded with ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Courses offered:

The following regular courses are being offered by the Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences:

• Master of Business Administration in Airlines and Airport Management

• Bachelor of Science in

o Aeronautical Sciences

o Aircraft Maintenance Sciences

• Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in the following streams:

o Mechanical – HA/JE/LA/PE

o Mechanical – Helicopter

o Avionics – IS/ES/RN

Course duration and eligibility requirements:

The duration of MBA course offered by the institution is two years and for getting into this course candidates must have completed their degree in any stream and they should possess valid CAT/MAT Score. The B. Sc courses are of three-year duration and for getting into these two courses, candidates with higher secondary with chemistry, physics and mathematics are eligible to apply. The AME course offered by the Nehru College of Arrnotics & Applied Science is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation and the course duration is three years. For seeking admission to this course, candidates with not less than 50% of aggregate marks in physics and mathematics in HSC/CBSE/+2 are eligible to apply or even candidates with 50% marks in B. Sc or Diploma course are also eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure:

There is no entrance examination for admission of students to any of the course offered by the Nehru College of Aeronautics & Applied Science. Admission will be done purely on merit basis and as far as AME course is concerned, allotment of stream to candidates will be decided by the AME department.

Alagappa University off-campus centre:

Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences act as an Off-campus centre for Alagappa University thereby offering courses like Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and Aviation Maintenance Science and these courses are approved the central and state government and are affiliated to the Alagappa University.
