High Court of Punjab and Haryana is authorized by Constitution of India. The decision of the court can only be appealed to Supreme Court of India. Justice M. M. Kumar is the present Acting Chief Justice of the court. The court was established in the year 1947 for both the states of Punjab and Haryana. The court is situated at Chandigarh. The strength of the judges in the court is 48 besides Chief Justice. The sanctioned strength of the court is 68 judges. Initially, the sole court present in the Punjab during Maharaja ranjit Singh’s period was Sadder Adulate Court located at Lahore.

Job Profile:

Eligible and qualified candidates are invited to apply for the vacant position of Stenographer Grade-III in High Court of Punjab and Haryana. Selected candidates will be recruited in the various Session Divisions (Subordinate Courts) in the State of Punjab. The vacancies are available in the Session Divisions of Amritsar, Bhatinda, Sangrur, Gurdaspur, Faridkot, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Mansa, Roop Nagar, Mansa, Patiala and Mukatsar.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post of Stengrapger Grade-III is 18 years as on 1 January 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Stengrapger Grade-III is 37 years as on 1 January 2011.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC categories of Haryana will get relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. Candidates, who are In-Service Employees, will also get relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Ex-Serviceman candidates will also get relaxation in the upper age limit as per the no. of years rendered in military service + 3 years.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required to be possessed by the interested candidates is Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science or equivalent from a recognized institute or university. Candidates should have proficiency in operation of Computers ( they specially need to have knowledge of Word Processing and Spread Sheets ). Candidates having qualification less than the prescribed one, will not be considered eligible for applying for the post of Stenographer Grade-III in High Court of Punjab and Haryana.

Application Fee:

All interested candidates are required to submit an application fee of prescribed amount for applying for the specified post in High Court of Punjab and Haryana. The fee is need to be deposited in the Account No. 65127897184 of State Bank of Patiala, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh. The application fee must be paid through National Electronic Fund Transfer mode only.

Application fee for General candidates: Rs. 500 only.
Application fee for Reserved categories candidates of other states: Rs. 500 only.
Application fee for SC/ST/BC/OBC/ESM candidates of Punjab: Rs. 125 only.

Selection Process:

Candidates will have to appear in a Shorthand test followed by a computer proficiency test. Only successfull candidates of the mentioned tests, will be allowed to appear in the second stage of the selection process which is comprises of a viva voice only.
