Clerk, Stenographer, Office of the District and Sessions Judge
Office of the District and Sessions Judge performs all its operations or functions under the control of Government of India. Office of the District and Sessions Judge is the highest or principal court in each district. The appointement of one District Judge and the Assistant District Judges for the District Court is performed by State Government. District Judge supervises the works performed by Assistant District Judges.
Job Profile:
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Clerks and Stenographer in the Office of the District and Sessions Judge. All interested candidates must ensure their eligibility for the posts in advance i.e. before applying for the posts. Number of posts may increase or decrease depending on the requirement of office.
Eligibility:
Candidates should be between 18 to 37 years of age as on 1 January 2011. Candidates must have age more than 18 years but less than 37 years or else they will be considered uneligible for the post. This age criteria is strictly need to be followed by the interested candidates. Relaxation in age will be provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, as per instructions of the High Court as well as Punjab Government.
Educational Qualification:
For the post of Clerks: Candidates should possess a Degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates should also have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subjects.
For the post of Stenographer: Candidates should possess a Degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates should have adequate knowledge of computer applications especially Word Processing and Spread Sheet. Candidates must have a shorthand speed of 80 words per minute in English and 20 words per minute for transcription.
No. of posts: There are 20 posts available in total.
Clerks: Only 11 posts are available.
Stenographers: Only 9 posts are available.
Pay Scale:
Clerks: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 3200.
Stenographers: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.
Application Fee:
No application fee is to be paid by the candidates for any of the two specified posts in Office of the District and Sessions Judge.
Selection Committee:
Candidates will first have to face a written examination and then after qualifying in the written test, he/she will be called for the personal interview test with the selection committee. The responsibility of selecting best candidates on the specified posts is on the selection committee only. The final decision on the selection of the candidates will be made by selection committee only.
How to apply: Application forms completed in all respect alongwith three recent passport size photographs and a self addressed envelope duly affixed with Rs. 5 postal stamp, are need to be sent on or before the last date for the reciept of application.
