Punjab Information and Communication Technology Education Society, shortly called as PICTES is otherwise known as ICT Education Society of Punjab. The society was established by the Indian Government for implementation of ICT Project. The society has made elementary education compulsory and also free for children between the age group of 6 and 14 years.

Recruitment by PICTES:

PICTES has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of computer faculty on contractual basis and candidates should be willing to serve anywhere in the state of Punjab. The post will be made regular after satisfactory completion of three years of service.

Name of the Vacancy: Computer Faculty

Number of Vacancies: 700

Reservation of vacancies for reserved category candidates will be on the basis of the policy of the Government of Punjab.

Period of Contract: The position of Computer Faculty will be offered on contract basis initially for a period of one year and it will be renewed based on the performance, conduct and work of the candidates for every year. the position will be regular after three years of continuous service subject to the condition that the performance is satisfactory.

Pay Scale: During the contract period, candidates will be getting a salary of Rs.10000 per month. After regularization of position, they will be offered a pay of Rs.10300-34800 plus GP of Rs.3800.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification: For the position of Computer faculty, candidates must have completed any of the following degrees with not less than 50% of marks:

• Three-year diploma course in information technology/computer science & Engineering

• B. Sc (IT/CS/Internet Science)

• BCA

• BIT

• B-level course from DOEACC

• B. Tech/B. E Computer Science & Engineering

• BMIT

• AMIE of IETE in Computer Science & Engineering

• MCA

• M. Sc IT/Computer Science/software systems/software

• MIS

• MIT

• M. Tech Computer Science

• M. Sc in Networking and protocol designing/IT

Age: Minimum age limit to apply for the position of Computer Faculty is 18 years and the maximum age requirement is 37 years as on the 1st of January 2011. Age relaxation will be applicable according to the rules of the Government of Punjab.

Mode of selection:

Selection will be based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Written Computer Eligibility Test. Written Test is planned to be held on 5th of February 2012.

Application fee:

Application fee to be paid by general category candidates is Rs.250 and Rs.125 by SC candidates. The fee should be paid to account number 911020049615714 with Axis Bank along and it should be paid through the challan that can be downloaded by the candidate after submission of their application online. Last date for depositing fee is 02nd of January 2012.
