Hypersonic Vehicle Analysis - This project aims on testing the behavior of a hypersonic vehicle during its flight through the atmosphere. The aerodynamics and heating experienced by this vehicle is analyzed using specially designed simulation tools.

Structural Health Monitoring of Space Structures - Here the damage in composite rocket panels and other space structures is detected using specially designed sensors. This project involves composite plate manufacturing, scanning laser vibrometer tests, and data processing.

Nanosatellite Modeling, Design, and Flight - Here a small satellite is developed by applying the principles of flight dynamics and control, astrodynamics, electrical engineering and thermal management. Different types of sensors and optimization algorithms are used for the development of this satellite.

Energy Harvesting for Wind Turbine Monitoring - Structural integrity of large wind turbine blades is monitored using monitoring and telemetry systems. A source of energy is required inside the blades to power these systems. In this project energy harvesting is achieved through electromagnetic and piezoelectric effects. As the wind turbine turns, an interaction will be occurred between gravitational and centripetal forces. Electromagnetic and piezoelectric effects extracts the electrical energy produced from this interaction and this will be used as the source of energy to power the monitoring and telemetry systems.

Adaptive Autonomous Fuel Economy Model Agent - Fuel economy model agent has got a greater importance in vehicle routing optimization projects. This projects aims at developing an adaptive autonomous fuel economic agent to test different theories related to the fuel consumption of automotive vehicles. This project has got three stages in which the first stage focus on determining the model coefficients. In this a model is developed using that model coefficients. In the second stage, the developed model is used to test different hypothesis related to fuel consumption. In the third stage that model is converted to autonomous software which can automatically collect the data on fuel consumption and update the model coefficients.

Students of final year B.Tech Aerospace Engineering can do their projects on different government owned research institutes or firms. Private firms also provide facilities for doing different aerospace engineering projects. But government owned firms can provide better simulation tools to be used on different projects. Therefore it is better to choose government organizations to do different aerospace engineering projects.
