Research Associate, SRF, JRF - National Institute of Ocean Technology
Abbreviated as NIOT, National Institute of Ocean Technology is serving as a technical arm of the Ministry of Earth Sciences of Government of India. The institute is operating with the aim of promoting technological development in activities pertaining to ocean engineering and ocean resource utilization. Different research projects has been undertaken by the institution in areas like Marine Biotechnology, ocean acoustics, island desalination/offshore structures, ocean electronics, etc…

National Institute of Ocean Technology has invited applications from eligible candidates for the positions of Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the institute in this regard:
Name of the Vacancies: Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow & Junior Research Fellow
Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 26, which is divided among the aforesaid positions as follows:
• Research Associate – 02 (Life Sciences)
• Senior Research Fellow – 16
o Physical Oceanography/Physics/Oceanography – 04
o Life/Chemical Sciences - 12
• Junior Research Fellow – 08 (Life/Chemical Sciences)
Pay scale: Pay scales for each of the position are given below:
• Research Associate – Rs.22,000/- + HRA
• Senior Research Fellow – Rs.18000/- + HRA
• Junior Research Fellow – Rs.16000/- + HRA

Mode of Selection:
Selection will be based on the performance of candidates in interview and mere possession of educational qualification will not entitle the candidates with the right to be called for selection or interview. Final selection of candidates will be on the basis of recommendations of the committee of selectors.
