Veterinary Science is a science that includes study of animal morphology in detail. Under this course, one needs to study about the various structure and functions of the parts of animal’s body. In other words Bachelor of Veterinary Science deals with curing, treating as well as studying the various diseases occurring in animals and birds. Thus, under the course of Bachelor in Veterinary Science, one needs to study the Physiology of the animals in detail. After that various diseases that are prone to specific animals are studied in detail, and the ways to cure and treat those diseases are taught to the students pursuing this course. Apart from studying about the diseases under this course, one also studies the means of preventing the diseases from occurring or spreading.
One needs to be 10 + 2 qualified from any recognized educational board of India in order to get admission in the course of Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
Course outlook:
The course of Bachelor in Veterinary Science is a full time course and the duration of this course is 5 years. These 5 years are divided into 5 parts of 1 year each. Every year an examination is held to decide the eligible students for the next part.
Job Prospects:
The job opportunities for B.VSc degree holders are huge. One can open their own practicing clinic after completing Bachelor in Veterinary Science. Also there are plenty of animal hospitals, where one can work. Many government farms and animal husbandry, poultry farms, and even Army recruits Veterinary Doctors for taking care of the animals.
