There are more ways for securing a job other than campus recruitment. This include registering with job portals and job consultancies. One can get placed in various firms through a job fair or else by directly applying to the interested firms or by referral scheme too.

Job Portals

Aspirants have options to register with various job portals. They have to register by specifying their email id, contact number and other relevant details. They will be given a user id and a password. There are options to change id and password. One can upload their updated resume in their registered page. They can specify their interested area of work, desired job profiles etc. They can select their expected salary range and their preferred location for work as well. Whenever there will be any vacancy that suits one’s interest and profile they will be intimated via email and also SMS. One should make sure that they update their resume regularly for getting right results. Top job portals include Naukri, Timesjobs, Monster, etc.

Job Consultancies

Aspirants can register with various job consultancies as well. At registration time one can give their updated resume. They can also specify their preferences related to job area, profile, salary, work location etc. These consultancies will inform the candidates when there is a job that matches their requirements. Some consultancies demand certain percentage of their first salary as their fees whereas certain others demand a fixed amount as fees. Top job consultancies include Global hunt, Markstrat consultancies, Mafoi, IPSR etc.

Job Fair

Aspirants have opportunities to get a job via various job fairs as well. Various organizations or groups or consultancies organize job fairs. In this fair there will be a lot of firms of various categories like IT, KPO, BPO, etc. In most of the fairs there will be a chart specifying the companies taking part in the fair, job openings and eligibility criteria for each of them. Those who fulfill these criteria can approach the specific company if they are interested. There will mostly be a written test, group discussion and also a personal interview for selecting eligible candidates.

Apart from all these, word of mouth communication is the best way to know about various job openings in firms. Certain firms will intimate through leading newspapers or employment news. Aspirants can visit portals of interested firms and check for job openings in the career page directly. In certain firms there will be options to upload one’s resume in the career page. They will be intimated through mail at the time of openings in their firms. In certain firms there will be recruitment based on referrals as well. Employees of the firm can refer their friends or relatives who have sufficient qualifications as specified by the firm. There will be separate selection procedures for these people.
