Courses offered in SVNIT and Admission Procedure
Admission to B.Tech courses and M.Tech courses in Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) are offered on the basis of AIEEE and GATE score respectively. One can seek admission to integrated M.Sc courses on the basis of CATS exam. Eligible candidates should attend the counselling section carried out by the institute to get admission to Ph.D course.

Admission Process in SVNIT
B.Tech Courses - Those who have completed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as subjects are eligible to enrol for B.Tech courses. Such candidates can seek admission to the course on the basis of AIEEE score.
M.Tech Courses - B.Tech/B.E degree holders can seek admission to M.Tech programmes in the concerned stream. Selection of eligible candidates is done on the basis of GATE score.
Integrated M.Sc Courses- Candidates who have completed HSC or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English as subjects are eligible for integrated M.Sc courses. Selection of candidates in to these courses is offered based on score in Common Admission Test for Sciences (CATS) carried out by the institute itself. CATS qualified candidates have to undergo a counselling session through which final selection is made.
Ph.D Courses - Master degree holders can apply for Ph.D programs in the respective streams. M.Tech holders must possess minimum 50% marks as aggregate where as others need to have at least 55% marks in the qualifying exam. Final selection is made on the basis of the score obtained in the interview carried out by the institute.
B.Tech/B.E holders having CGPA 9.0 or equivalent can seek admission to Ph.D programs under certain conditions. They must possess minimum 5 year research experience from a reputed organization. Also they should have published not less than 2 papers in peer reviewed International Journal(s).
Those who are pursuing M.Tech or M.Phil in SVNIT have the option to pursue Ph.D programs at the beginning of second year. For this, one must have scored not less than 90% marks in the first and second semester of M.Tech or M.Phil programme.
