Admission Process for M.Tech courses in GITAM University

Selection of candidates to M.Tech courses is done on the basis of GITAM Admission Test (GAT). B.E/B.Tech/A.M.I.E holders with 50% marks can apply for GAT (PGT). The degree must be obtained in the related stream of engineering to which the candidate wishes to seek admission.

GAT test is conducted via online method. The online test is conducted at selected centers like Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, etc. There will be 100 questions for the test which must be completed with in 2 hours time period. The test comprises of three sections which are as follows.

  • Numerical Data Analysis
  • Reasoning and Intelligence
  • Verbal Ability

There will be 40 questions from the numerical data analysis section and 30 questions each from reasoning and verbal ability. Each correct answer of this objective model test carries 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Separate entrance test is conducted for candidate seeking admission to integrated B.Tech + M.Tech course. Candidates who have completed HSC course in science stream are eligible to seek admission. GAT, in the case comprises of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. There will be 40 questions from Mathematics/Biology and 30 questions each from Physics and Chemistry.

Qualified candidates will be informed about the date of admission. Other processes like certificate verification, fee payment, etc will be done on this scheduled date.
