Graduation in Law from any recognized University is the minimum educational qualification required for Uttar Pradesh Assistant Prosecution Officer (UP APO) Pre Exam. Candidates who are in the age limit of 21-35 years are eligible to apply. The exam includes 2 papers, preliminary and mains. Apart from this, candidates will have to appear for a personality test.

Eligibility Criteria for Uttar Pradesh Assistant Prosecution Officer

Candidates who have completed graduation in Law from any recognized University are eligible to apply for this examination. Candidates should complete twenty one years of age at the time of application. Those who have are more than thirty five years of age are not eligible to apply for this examination. Candidates who have served Territorial Army for a minimum of 2 years or those who have obtained B certificate in NCC will be given special preference. Candidates belonging to reserved categories and Ex service men can avail relaxation in terms of age and marks as per the norms issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh are only eligible for reservation.

Exam Pattern for Uttar Pradesh Assistant Prosecution Officer

The examination is conducted in two stages. It includes preliminary as well as main exam. The duration of the preliminary exam is one hour. There will be a total of 150 questions. Each question carries one mark. Of these, 50 questions will be asked from General Knowledge. Candidates can expect questions from General Science, Current Events, History of India, Indian economy, World Geography and Population. Remaining 100 questions will be asked from topics related to Law. There will be 35 questions from Indian Penal code, 25 questions from Indian Evidence Act, 25 questions from Criminal Procedure Code and 15 questions from U.P. Police Act and Regulations under this Act. Time duration allotted for this test is 2 hours.

Mains examination will contain questions for a total of four hundred marks. There will be questions from topics such as General Knowledge, Hindi, Criminal Law & Procedure and Law of Evidence. Each section carries 100 marks. Questions from General Knowledge and General Hindi will be from high school level. Questions from other two sections will be from degree level. Duration of this exam is three hours. Apart from this, candidates will have to undertake personality test. Maximum marks allotted for this exam is 50 marks. Candidates’ character, personality and physical fitness will be assessed in this test.

    can a law officer of a bank who has been practise for 6 years ad an advocate be eligible for hjs? can an apo can apply for hjs if he has been practise for 6 years as an advocate?
