Graduates in respective subjects along with a minimum of 55% marks in qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the Test for Junior Research Fellowship conducted by CSIR. Upper age limit for application is 28 years. Examination will contain objective type questions. Application fee amounts to Rs. 400/-. 
Eligibility Criterion for Junior Research Fellowship

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have completed graduation in any of the following streams from a recognized university are eligible to apply for this examination.

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Four years full time Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Medicine and of Surgery
  • Integrated M. Sc Programs

Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination so as to be eligible. Those who are belonging to reserved categories can avail relaxation up to 5% in qualifying marks. In addition to this, candidates who are pursuing Post graduation courses and having the above mentioned educational qualification are also eligible to apply. Such candidates are required to apply under Result Awaited category. They will have to submit the attestation form which is duly certified by Head of the Department from where the candidate is studying.

Age Restrictions

Upper age limit for admission to this test is 28 years at the time of application. Candidates belonging to reserved categories can seek relaxation in upper age limit as per the norm issued by the Government of India.

Scheme of Examination for Junior Research Fellowship

Candidates can expect multiple choice objective type questions in the examination. There will be a maximum of two hundred questions in the examination. Each question carries one mark. Candidates will be given three hours to answer all the questions. Maximum marks allotted for each paper is two hundred. Medium of instructions will be in Hindi as well as in English Language. Application Procedure for Junior Research Fellowship

Candidates who seek admission to this test are required to apply in the prescribed application form. Application form cum information bulletin can be obtained through mail from “Indian Bank, 3/1, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi-110 008”. Candidates are required to take a Demand Draft for Rs. 400/- in favor of Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar payable at Delhi. Candidates will have to provide academic and personal details in the application form. They can select the centre of examination while filling it. Fully filled in application form along with copies of supporting documents should be sent to Sr. Controller of Examination, Examination Unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR regional centers. Late applications will be rejected.
