Admission Process for M.Sc. (Mathematics & Scientific Computing) in MNNIT
Science graduates with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible to apply. Such candidates must have obtained the degree with mathematics as one of the subjects. Selection of eligible candidates is done on the basis of their performance in IIT JAM (Mathematics).
There will be objective as well as descriptive model questions for IIT JAM. Integral calculus, sequences and series, differential equations, real analysis, group theory, etc are the main topics included under the syllabus of the entrance test. Candidates having qualified the entrance test can seek admission to MNNIT through a centralized counseling process.
Opportunities after M.Sc. (Mathematics & Scientific Computing) in MNNIT
After Mathematics & Scientific Computing, candidates interested in higher studies can look for courses like M.Phil in Applied Mathematics/ Mathematical Science or Ph.D in Applied Mathematics/ Mathematics. Others can look for the position of Operations Research Analyst/Mathematician. It is also possible for them to join as ‘Research Fellow’ in public service companies. Reputed job positions in public sector offer salary package up to Rs.25,000/- at entry level itself. NET qualified candidates can have an excellent career in teaching field. They can join as Asst professor in colleges and can earn up to Rs. 40,000/- per month.
