It is also possible to open Dental clinics of their own for the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of oral/dental diseases.

Medical colleges and hospitals often provide better job opportunities for BDS students. In Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, they can join to the position of Junior Resident (Dental). Eligible candidates to the job position must have completed BDS degree and their age must be less than 30 years. Rajasthan University of Health Sciences has recently invited applications for the positions of Assistant Professors in streams like Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Dental Material, Conservative Dentistry, and Oral Diagnosis. ‘Senior Demonstrator in Dental Material’ is another profile well suited for BDS graduates in this hospital.

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, etc is some other colleges where BDS graduates can apply for Assistant Professor position. Such candidates must have adequate teaching experience. In Health & Family Welfare Department, Gujarat, BDS holders can apply for Dentist position. Pay scale will vary in accordance with qualification and experience.
