KIIT, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology
This private institute was established in the year 1992 by Dr. Achyuta Samanta in Orissa. It started as an industrial training institute and today has made renounced name in that sphere. In a very short time this college was upgraded to the level of Deemed University in the year 2004. The college started from a very basic structure with a few number of students and has come a long way. Today its student strength is more than 15,000.The College has affiliation from UGC, NAAC, BCI, and AICTE.
The college has been ranked as the 16th in India and 4th in the eastern region & also 5th among private institutions in the year 2009. The institute offers undergraduate & post graduate courses in Engineering, Medical, Medicine, Bio-technology, Law, Computer Application, Rural Management, Film Studies, Journalism & sculpturing. Presently it has become an excellent centre for higher education. Students from all over India come to this college for studying.
