B.E/B.Tech/A.M.I.E holders in streams of Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, etc are eligible to seek admission to M.Tech Aerospace Engineering in IIT, Madras. Admission to the course is offered on the basis of GATE score. Sponsored candidates and IIT graduates with 80% marks are also eligible to seek admission. Selected candidates must pay Rs. 5000/- per semester as tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech Aerospace Engineering in IIT, Madras

Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized institute is the basic eligibility requirement. Engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following disciplines.

Admission Process for M.Tech Aerospace Engineering in IIT, Chennai

Admission to the course is offered strictly on the basis of GATE score. Eligible candidates with valid GATE score can apply through the official website of IIT, Madras.

Engineering graduates from IIT are also eligible to seek admission. Such candidates must possess minimum 80% marks in the qualifying examination. Those belonging to reserved category (SC/ST) need to score 75% marks only.

Sponsored candidates from public or private enterprises/industry are also eligible to apply. Sponsoring institution must be recognized by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.  Teaching faculty members from engineering colleges (approved by AICTE) and those involved in research and development work can also apply under sponsored category. Sponsored candidates must satisfy the following eligibility requirements also.

Engineering graduation with first class or minimum 60% marks

Or

AMIE/Equivalent with valid GATE score

And

Minimum two year professional experience

Another option is to seek admission through Quality Improvement Program. The scheme is sponsored by AICTE and selection is done on the basis of written test and interview.

Other than those mentioned above, certain seats are reserved for defence sponsored candidates.

Applications for attending the course can be forwarded through the official portal of the institute. Application fee amounts to Rs. 200/-. This must be paid as Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Registrar of IIT, Madras. After submitting the applications through online method, print out of the same must be sent to the address of M.Tech Admission Committee, IIT, Madras. Demand Draft and other necessary documents must be sent along with the application.

Students pursuing the course must pay Rs. 6600/- as semester fee, including tuition fee of Rs. 5000/-. At the time of admission, additional fees of Rs. 1950/- should also be paid.
