Lovely Professional University offers Ph.D in Microbiology as a part time course having maximum duration of 4 years. Master degree holders in the concerned subject can seek admission through written test and/or interview. Written test is based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree and comprises of subjective type questions only. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 700/-. After fee payment, eligible candidates can submit applications through online/offline method.

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Ph.D (Microbiology) in LPU

Master’s degree in Microbiology (or related subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks is the basic qualification required. Admissions to the course are done on the basis of written test and/or interview. Written test is conducted for time duration of 3 hours. Medium of the test is English and there will be subjective model questions only. Questions asked for the test will be based on the syllabus of the qualifying master’s degree. There will be two parts for the written test. First part will be a general paper and comprises 5 questions based on the respective discipline. In second section, there will be 6 questions. First 5 questions from this section are of short answer type.  Each of these questions carries 5 marks. 6th question is choice based. There will be 3 questions in the set and candidate needs to answer only one. This question is based on subject area of specialization (Industrial Microbiology) and marks given for the question is 25. Candidates with adequate score in written test will be called upon for interview.

Application Procedure for Admission to Ph.D (Microbiology) in LPU

Applications for attending the written exam can be submitted through online or offline method. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 700/-. In case of offline application, fee should be paid in the form of cash and this should be deposited directly at the admission office of the University. Fee can also be remitted to a specific account under Punjab National Bank or in the form of demand draft/pay order. After fee payment, filled up application form along with proof of fee payment (DD/Cash Receipt/Pay Order) should be send to the address of the University.

In case on online application, fee payment can be made through net banking or credit card/debit card facility. Remittance via bank account or in the form of demand draft is also possible. Upon fee payment, applicant can go for online application submission, through the web portal of LPU.
