AFMC, Pune, Armed Forces Medical College
Armed Forces Medical College, Pune is one of the very renowned medical colleges of India. The college was formed when the army medical training centre, Army school of hygiene, Central Military Pathology Laboratory, School of blood transfusion & army school of radiology joined together. AFMC was established in the year 1948 on 1st May. The college is situated in Connaught Barracks. Afterwards the College became a post graduate training & research institute. The College celebrated its glorious Golden Jubilee celebration in the year 1998.
Infrastructure: The college has an excellent infrastructure. The college stands on a 150 acre land. The huge campus includes the old & the new buildings. The campus consists of a Main Building, The Main Library, New Building, and hostels for accommodation of students & faculties. The main library is highly equipped with many numbers of books, journals, CD-ROMs & high speed net services.
Courses offered: The college has departments are divided in 4 sections. The departments include Anesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, pathology, physiology & many more. The college gives the degrees of MBBS, BSc in nursing & post gradation.
All the students of this college are placed by the institute only.
Admission Procedure: Admission to this college is solely based on an all India examination which is conducted by the college every year. Students with Qualification of +2 with Biology as a subject can appear for this examination under a specific age limit.

My brother is studying in 12 th standard. He is very much interested in doing medical studies and also interested in the defence field as his childhood ambition. He has attended n.c.c junior division in this regards, and he has works as a sergeant and his platoon commander successfully under the approval of his AOC. Since he would be the first to join the armed forces in our family,I would like to know the whole procedure for getting admission in AFMC. We just know about the pre medical examination conducted by the college but we do not know the details and the way to clear the exam. Please convey those if you can, at your earliest convenience, so that my brother will get enough of time for its preparation

the afmc med entrance exam was scheduled on 1st may 2011
at 2.30pm and the AIEEE EXAM AT 9.30 am. I am appearing for both the exams but the AIEEE EXAMS has been postponed to 12 pm ending at 3.00 pm. I therefor can not reach the exam center which is 10 km away , in time. I there any resheduling of AFMC entrance exam?
