(HPPSC) Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission came into existence in the year 1971. The major functions of HPPSC are to conduct examinations, recruit the employees for the services in state and union govt. It may also advise and guide the govt. on the methods and principles for appointing the candidates. 

Job profile: The assistant engineers would be working in the civil, electrical and environmental engineering departments. They will be required to execute activities like construction and design, operation and maintenance of the electrical systems, planning etc. They would also have to assist their seniors.

Eligibility: A candidate should be 45 years or below in age to apply. Relaxation can be claimed as per the law.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate should have an engineering degree in any of the following streams – electrical, civil and environment. A candidate should have an aggregate of 60%. The qualifications should be from a recognized university.

No. of posts: There are 25 posts in civil, 10 posts in electrical and 3 posts in environment department.

Pay scale: The assistant engineers will get a pat scale of Rs7750-Rs14500 plus other allowances as per the rules.

Selection process: The candidates will have to appear for an interview. If the no. of candidates is high then there will be a screening test for short listing the candidates.

The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs250 (Rs63 for SC/ST) in the form of a demand draft which should be drawn in the favor of Secretary, HP Public Service Commission payable at Shimla.
