Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission was established under the Government of India. It was actually established under Article 318 of the Constitution of India. The commission was established on January 25, 1971. Initially, before the establishment of the Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission, the needs of the state of Himachal Pradesh were served by Union Public Service Commission. However, Union Public Service Commission was relaxed from the responsibility after the establishment of Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission.

Interested candidates are invited to apply for filling up the following positions of Assistant Engineer, Lecturer Mechanical Engineering, Veterinary Officer, Assistant Professor and Medical Officer in Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. The post of Assistant Engineer is available in the field of Electrical and Civil Engineering.

1. Recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Electrical):
No. of posts: Only 27 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with some years of experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 16650-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5800.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Civil):

Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with some years of experience in relevant field.

3. Recruitment of Lecturer (Mechanical Engineering):

Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

4. Recruitment of Veterinary Officer:

Educational Qualification: Degree of B.V.Sc. and A.H. from a recognized university with some years of experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

5. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: Only 32 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in concerned discipline from a recognized university with some years of experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8900.

6. Recruitment of Medical Officer (General Wing):
No. of posts: Only 150 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Degree in concerned discipline from a recognized university with some years of experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 7880-13500 per month.

Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs. 250 is need to be submitted by the General category candidates. SC/ST/OBC categories candidates are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 63 only. The application fee must be sent through the means of a Bank Draft payable in any branch of a Bank at Shimla to the Secretary, H.P. Public Service Commission, Shimla-171002. Candidates can also submit the prescribed amount of application fee through online mode.
