Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission came into existence as a responsible authority on January 25, 1971. The commission actually comes under Article 318 of the Constitution of India. Before the establishment of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, the needs of the state of Himachal Pardesh were served by Union Public Service Commission. UPSC served the needs on the special request from the Government of Himachal Pradesh with the approval of President of India. However, after the establishment of HPPSC, all the needs of the state of Himachal Pradesh started to be served by HPPSC only.

Job Profile:

Eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the following positions of Medical Officer (Dental), Assistant Engineer (Civil), Acharya (Sanskrit College Cadre), Headmaster (School Cadre) and Principal (College cadre) in Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission.

1. Recruitment of Medical Officer (Dental) Class-I:
No. of posts: Only 42 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2011.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 21000 per month.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Civil) Class-I:
No. of posts: Only 8 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Acharya (Sanskrit College Cadre) Class-I:
No. of posts: Only 16 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2011.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 21600 per month.

4. Recruitment of Headmaster (School Cadre) Class-II:
No. of posts: Only 212 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4400.

5. Recruitment of Principal (College Cadre) Class-I:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2011.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000-18300 per month.

Candidates can submit the prescribed amount of application fee my the means of payment challan or Bank Draft. Candidates applying online, should use the payment challan to submit their application fee while candidates applying offline, should send a Bank Draft of requisite application fee alongwith their application form. The bank draft should be made in favour of Secretary, H. P. Public Service Commission, Shimla- 171002 payable in any branch of Bank at Shimla..

Application fee for General candidates: Rs. 250 only.
Application fee for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Himachal Pradesh: Rs. 63 only.
