Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS, is an undergraduate academic program in the country in the medical filed. It is one of the top most professional courses in the country, which is designed into 9 semesters or 4 and half year duration. After the completion of the academic studies the candidates must undergo a mandatory one year internship program at the reputed hospital in India. Hence the total duration of pursuing the MBBS degree in India is five and half years. In India, the MBBS program is controlled and monitored by the Medical Council of India.

After pursuing graduation in medicine, various postgraduate examinations are open for the graduates. Eligibility Criteria for MBBS program

To apply for MBBS in India a score above 50% is required by the applicant for chemistry, biology and physics in 10+12 grade. To enter into a national level medical college, one needs to take the Common Entrance Test (CET) and All India Medical Entrance Examination (AIMEE). Questions from biology, chemistry and physics can be expected for the written medical entrance test. Each state conducts their separate Medical Entrance test and residents of that state can apply for admission into these colleges.

A large number of medical colleges and universities in India under MCI are offering the MBBS program. The aspirants of MBBS must take the entrance examination conducted at the national or state level. The candidates need to score minimum cut off marks in these examinations and must go through the counseling process to get admission into the medical universities.

How to fill in MBBS Entrance Application form?

The candidates are required to understand the information brochure carefully while filling the form. The form should be filled up in his or her own handwriting with a ball point pen either blue or black ink. A recent size photo must be pasted on the right place and fingerprint should be affixed in the requisite columns. Any fault will result in the rejection of the form and you won’t be allowed to take the examination. The form should be sent along with the document and DD to the submission address before the deadline.

MBBS Entrance Exam Pattern

The test will be for three hours. The question paper generally will carry 200 multiple choice questions from different subjects. The subjects of the examination include biology, physics, chemistry, GK. Wrong answers carry negative marks in the exams.

High pay packets are available for the MBBS holders. The remuneration starts from Rs. 15,000 to 25,000 p.m. in the public sector. At the preliminary stage college professors can also get the same. The earnings will go up with experience from a reputed institute. Those who pursue higher studies can start with even better salary. A committed practitioner gets a high remuneration which varies from Rs.30, 000- 40,000 per month. Besides this an extra income can be earned by private practioners based on their effort by engaging in private practice.
