B.Tech in Civil Engineering Project Names and Ideas

Advertisements

Civil engineering is the broadest field in the engineering studies. Various universities and institutions in the country offer this particular branch of study at undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma level. B.Tech in this branch of study is a four year programme consisting of eight semesters. The course includes the study of planning, designing and implementation of various structural activities.

The final semester of the course also includes the project work. This is to implement the theoretical knowledge that the students have studied through the course, into practical applications. The projects topics that can be taken as part of the final year project work by B.Tech Civil engineering aspirants are mentioned here:

Final year Project Names and Ideas

Classification of SAR data

Synthetic Aperture Radar is an active technique that can be used for obtaining images of earth surface. The main advantage of SAR compared to optical imagery is that it is independent from daylight and from all weather conditions. The classification of SAR data depends on many factors like images of various lands such as urban area, forests, agricultural field, etc. It also enables to detect various objects like single buildings.

Seismic Design of a RC Frame Building with Masonry Infills

The aim of this project is to design life safety buildings with combination of RC frame buildings with the masonry in fills. This type of buildings should be able to overcome the earthquakes. There is a complex nature in the combination of concrete frames with the masonry in fills.

Processing of Polari metric SAR Data

The processing of polari metric SAR data gives an idea about the changes of the polarization of electromagnetic signals occurring in the surface of earth. The primary aim of this research is to collect such information that can be obtained using a POLSAR data processing.

Shear Strength of Sand at Extremely Low Pressures

The project aims to find the shear strength of sand under extremely low pressures. There is a considerable change in the shear factor of the sand at pressures below 5psi. The tests can carried out using triaxial compression tests. There may be increase in the stress ratio failure if the sand is sheared under extreme low pressure.

Determination of aquifer parameters

The determination of aquifer parameters involves determining the parameters in ground water and tidal levels. A typical experiment with this in coastal region shows that the efficiency of the tidal decreases with the distance and increases the time with distance from coast. Determination of the natural flow of water through aquifer needs knowledge about the transitivity and hydraulic conductivity.

Some other topics for doing projects

  • LiDAR data for identifying buildings
  • Accuracy assessment of building identification using remotely sensed data
  • Numerical modelling of scour around bridge pier
  • Use of aluminium shear link in seismic retrofitting
  • Acquisition of Ground Penetrating Radar data and application of image processing techniques
  • Study of Cloud Microphysical Properties using a cloud dynamic model
  • Design of a Modern Hangar Structure
  • Experimental study on some mechanical properties of bituminous mix
  • Back calculation of pavement moduli by wave method
  • Uplift capacity of pile groups in clay
  • Finite Element Analysis of Spread footing on Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Foundation
  • Physical modeling of scour around bridge pier
  • Some applications of elasticity and plasticity in geomechanics
  • Crushability And Compressibility of Panki Fly Ash
  • Seismic Design of a RC Frame Building with RC Wall
  • GIS aided environmental resource management: A novel technique
  • Stability of Soil Nailed Slopes

Choose the Industry

Students can choose the industry for doing the projects depending on their interest and project topic. Many industries offer the opportunities for the B.Tech students to carry out their project works. They should be careful in choosing the industries. They can take projects in well reputed government firms or private firms, which add a value to their career afterwards.

Helicopter has such type of capacity which stay at one point in space but earth is moveble means it( earth) has both linear and angular motion.
But ,when helicopter is flying stationary in space for a long time then, will it displaced with respect to earth.& why ?
